
The Traverse City Golf and Country Club presented their fundraising check to the Mid-Michigan Honor Flight, they have been doing a silent auction fundraiser for 10 years giving veterans from the Korea and Vietnam era an opportunity to see the memorials in Washington D.C.
This year the Traverse City Country Club raised $93,000 which is $50,000 more than the last year’s donation.
The mid-Michigan honor flight takes four trips a year with 75 veterans and guardians. Traverse City Country Club president Richard Birndorf and Mid-Michigan Honor Flight Vice President John Jury are honored to help veterans.“The honor flight group itself has just been amazing to be able to support and recognize these veterans and providing this tour and completely no cost to the veteran at all,” says John Jury, Vice President Mid-Michigan Honor Flight.
“I have been on one of the flights. A number of our members have been on the flights. It’s an amazing organization. They do a terrific job with the veterans. And we’re just really proud that we can we can contribute to the on their behalf,” shares Richard Birndorf, President of Traverse City Golf and Country Club.
Mid-Michigan honor flight is fully funded by generous donation of money and time from the community.
